Work Experience:

Thirty years of accumulated experience in the oil industry, including twenty Six years with the Sudanese Ministry of Energy & Mining (MEM) (1978 – 2004). During this period a distinguished record was achieved through the contribution in almost all downstream projects in the oil sector, starting from project feasibility study, project evaluation, contract negotiation, projects construction and supervision, and production management.

2009 – up to 2013 Asawer MD Advisor

Asawer is one of Sudapet subsidiaries established early 2009 as an EPCC for oil service facilities and infrastructure. From my position as an Advisor, I contributed in the establishment of the company.

Jan 2007 up to April 2009: Manager of Unaoil –Sudan:  Unaoil Sudan is a branch of Unaoil Group whose headquarters is located in Monaco, France. Unaoil group has branches and offices in over twenty countries across the Globe. Its profile covers oil industry’s main activities, i.e. engineering, instrumentation, rotating equipment, supply, production chemicals, supply and human resources development.

2005 -2006: University of Khartoum:

I have actively contributed in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering-University of Khartoum as an Assistant Professor, a lecturer and projects’ advisor for final year students. During this period took part in many seminars and workshops arranged by the Faculty for oil industry engineers. Both Chemical Engineering Department and the engineers were satisfied and expressed their appreciation.

2002 -2004 KRT Refinery Technical Division Deputy Manger:

Khartoum Refinery Co. (KRT) is a Joint Venture between the Sudanese Government and China National

Petroleum Company (CNPC) and is the major oil refinery in Sudan.

Job responsibilities included:

  • • Directing and supervising five department managers, production, Safety (HSE), Quality (lab), power

production and techno-economic evaluation.

  • • Heading all technical daily, weekly and monthly meetings.
  • • Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
  • • Contributing in all managerial issues within the company, including budget preparation.
  • • Representing the company in all technical issues locally and abroad and including meetings, seminars, workshops ……….etc

2000 – 2002 KRT Refinery production Dept. Manager:

Job responsibilities included:

  • • Managing production dept. and setting production plans.
  • • Arranging daily and weekly production meetings.
  • • Arranging inspection and maintenance schedules.

1997 -2000 KRT Refinery Construction Supervision Deputy Manager:

Job responsibilities included:

Co-managing Khartoum Refinery implementation progress Approving payment to the contractor according to the contract, including change orders Checking and endorsing monthly and quarterly progress reports Submitting reports to the owner with respect to project progress on a regular basis.

1993-1997 Ministry of Energy & Mining: Secretary -General’s assistant for Eng. Affairs:

Job responsibilities included:

-Directing and supervising the management of three departments: projects, technical services and quality control

-Regularly reporting to the secretary General progress plans for different projects. -Representing the Ministry of Energy and Mining in all relevant technical issues locally and abroad -Periodically conducting evaluation for the ministry’s projects and the technical activities of its subsidiary companies. -Checking and endorsing licenses for new project owned by the oil industry’s private sector.

1983 -1989 Head of projects section in the General petroleum corporation :

Job responsibility included:

-Conducting and/or evaluating project feasibility studies. -Inspecting and preparing periodic reports about the project owned by the Corporation.

1981-1982 post –graduate study:

I was granted a post-graduate study scholarship by Total Company in France, particularly in oil refining and handling process.

1978-1980 Engineer in General Petroleum Corporation, Technical Section:

Job responsibility included:

-Contributed in conducting project feasibility studies. -Worked as Site Engineer to supervise small construction projects. -Reported to the section Head with regard to projects progress.

Activities: Memberships:

-Member of the Sudan Engineering society since 1978 -Affiliated member of the Association of Energy engineers

(AEE), USA, Since 1986 -Member of the Sudan Environment Protection Society

Attended seminars and training courses addressing projects in the oil industry locally and abroad, including Arthur D. Little Institute of Boston, USA, Seminars arranged by ADNOC, ERIC and AOPEC in the UAE, Management courses in Egypt and France …..etc.


-Well exposed and worked with people from different nationalities, western and Eastern. -Visited many parts of the world including USA, Europe, Russia, china, Middle East and Africa.
